General Site Rules
This WaterWiki is available for everyone to use and everyone to edit. When using the site, you should be aware of the general site rules.
Registering
- You should not register more than one user account or publish under multiple identities.
- When registering you will be required to provide a user name and a genuine email address at which you can receive emails. We encourage you to provide your real name for purposes of attribution and networking.
Behaviour
- You must show respect and consideration for other users at all times.
- You may not publish anything that is abusive, threatening, malicious, libellous, unlawful or in any way actionable.
- You may not publish anything obscene, racist, sexist or homophobic.
Content
- This site is an online resource hosting information and networking features for the water community all areas of water, wastewater and environmental science and management. Inappropriate material will be removed without notice.
- Contributed material in the Articles section should be supported by references to reliable primary and/or secondary sources. Unverifiable material is liable to be removed without notice.
- The User Profile and Organisation Profile sections allow you to provide information on yourself and your organisation/company/research group/project etc. to the wider water and environmental community. Neither this nor any other section of the site should be used for blatant or intrusive advertising. The owners of the site reserve the right to decide what constitutes such advertising and to remove such material without notice.
- You may edit and revise material contributed by other users, but you should do so with care and consideration. Do not delete or change material posted by other users for no good reason.
- The owners of the site take no responsibility for any work lost before it can be saved to the WaterWiki, whether it's due to a fault in the WaterWiki, our servers, or your own computer. We recommend that substantial contributions to the WaterWiki are initially drafted offline (e.g. in a text editor), rather than in the WaterWiki editing interface.
