The organisers of the Water Loss UK and Water Loss Europe conferences have been using the Events Extra section of the WaterWiki to publicise the events and announce calls for contributions.

Water Loss UKand Water Loss Europe? are the first IWA events to use Events Extra to inform delegates of conference proceedings ahead of time.

Malcolm Farley, Secretary, IWA Water Loss Specialist Group, explains that:

"I am helping to organise two events in 2012 on the specialist topic of managing water losses in distribution networks. WaterWiki, with its readership of international water practitioners, is the ideal vehicle for this.  I found the Events Extra pages of Water Wiki particularly invaluable - not only for publicising the events but also for making announcements (such as extending the deadline dates for abstracts).  I will also be encouraging delegates to join a post-event forum to give their feedback on each event - and what topics they would like to see discussed at the next one'"
